Drumbeg - the Area
Drumbeg is on the western seaboard of the last great wilderness area in Europe.  The surrounding area is a Mecca for anyone who loves & appreciates majestic mountains set in huge open spaces, lochs, rivers & waterfalls, wild animals, bird life, fishing, flora, fauna & geology.
There are hundreds of lochs in the surrounding area which are celebrated for their abundance of wild brown trout.  (Fishing permits are available from the Stores).

There are excellent paths leading from Drumbeg village both to the coast & into the great wilderness areas inland.

Deer roam freely in the surrounding hills.  Badgers & Pine Martens abound at night & sometimes foxes too.

On the coast there are beautiful beaches & sand dunes at Stoer, Clashnessie & Achmelvich, all within 20 minutes drive from Drumbeg.  Whales, seals, dolphins, otters and basking sharks are all amongst the frequent visitors to these waters & are often seen.  White Tailed Sea Eagles are increasingly seen from the Drumbeg view-point. There is a well established seal colony just a short walk from Drumbeg.

Drumbeg village itself sits upon some of the oldest rocks in the world.
